Sabre Becomes Kitagawa Scottish Distributor
The Kitagawa Gas Detector Tube System now available at Sabre Safety Limited and is used by many industries to detect gases and vapours, simply and reliably, without the need for calibration, effort or a power supply.
The system is Lightweight, compact and easy to carry, simple to operate for all personnel, provides you with accurate reading in a few minutes, can be used in flammable atmospheres and needs no calibration or power supply.
The system consists of a pump and a range of over 300 glass detector tubes, from Ammonia to Xylene. Also available are single inorganic and single organic detector tubes. The tubes are filled with an absorbent material and chemical reagent which, when in the presence of the target gas, produces a colour stain along the tube. A calibration scale is printed on the tube to enable you to easily match the length of the colour stain to the concentration of the gas present.
The tubes themselves are shatter proof and can be used in a multitude of applications such as industrial Hygiene, Fire/Explosion prevention, Process Control, Air Pollution Control and in Industrial Waste Water applications.
The Kitagawa system is multi-functional and can be used for measuring dissolved substances in solutions, compressed breathing air testing and even blood screening in criminal investigations.
Extra apparatus for the AP-20 pump offers remote testing in confined spaces and as no electricity is required there is no added risk of explosion.
You can use the simple search function on the Sabre Safety Kitagawa Shop to search for your needed chemical.

Auchterhouse Day Out
Sabre Safety invited a number of our customers to a day out at Auchterhouse Country Sports. We were lucky to choose the only sunny day in a week of rain and our guests arrived in good spirits on a coach from Aberdeen.
Six teams were created from Transocean, ENSCO, Petrofac, BP, The Clydesdale Bank, RBG, TAQA, Wood Group, Calmac and Grampian Fire. The six teams were allocated a host for the day and split up for the various activities. All of the teams competed in Clay Shooting, Archery, Pistol Shooting, 4×4 Driving , Tracked Vehicle Driving and the “Cracker” , a vehicle consisting of two Range Rover front ends welded back to back.
Typically for the oil industry, competition was fierce but as the dust settled Transocean’s drilling managers emerged triumphant.
An excellent buffet meal was provided in the Pear Tree Restaurant followed by music from The Dirty Beggars in the clubhouse. As the night moved on the “party wheels” became very well lubricated and after much, dancing, singing and “high jinx” our guests were poured back onto their coach at midnight.
The day was a tremendous success and we feel that our new friendships will help us to deliver an even better service to our customers.

‘The Things we do for Charity’ An Evening with Craig Brown a Huge Success
On a Thursday evening in May, Keith Robertson of Sabre Safety welcomed Table Guests from BP, Transocean, Diamond Offshore, Conoco Philips, Petrofac, Northlink Ferries and CNR International for what was to be a hugely successful and enjoyable evening. A Charitable Sporting Dinner with Craig Brown cbe and Guests organized by Hilton Treetops raised funds for the Hilton Foundation Charity focusing on children and young people in the community.
Craig Brown, former manager of Scotland and current manager of Aberdeen, entertained an audience with well crafted stories and reminiscences of his 49 year career which were delivered in a highly entertaining and professional manner. Bill Copeland ‘who has previously ventured out onto the North Sea oil rigs’ followed suit and raised the bar with a constant flow of highly entertaining speeches. He successfully blended his funny football anecdotes with a number of great jokes so that even those in the audience with limited knowledge of the sport were kept entertained. Everyone present at the evening thoroughly enjoyed themselves and with four Raffle Prize Winners on our table and a couple of purchases totalling more than £1200.00 by someone who will remain anonymous the event was a tremendous success and all on A School Night too!
